Review of Tideland (2005) by Sílvio T — 25 Apr 2011
A truly missunderstood film. I found it to be completly engrossing and amazing. I can't recall the last time I feared as much for a fictional character as I did for Jaliza Rose. I actually consider this to a horror movie, I was completly fearfull of what disturbing twist of fate would be bestowed next on that poor girl!!! And despite all the dread, disturbing images and situacions, there were still moments of amazing beauty.
I was shocked, afraid, on the edge of my seat the all time. And loved every second of it. Thankfully, it has a relieving happy ending. A moment of brightness in an otherwise grim and dark (albeit beautifull)film.
