Review of Tideland (2005) by Steven R — 27 Feb 2013
One of the weirdest things outside of a David Lynch film that I have ever seen in my life. And I stress "weird". Words cannot describe this film. You just have to see it. It's a challenge.
You will either love it, hate it, or you'll be left somewhere in between. However, it is something different, something like you've never seen before in your life, and worthy of at least one viewing.
Most critics were not fond of this one. It's sort of easy to see why, but I found it strangely compelling, aside from the fact that many scenes are very, very disturbing. Terry Gilliam throws EVERYTHING at the screen.
***Just watched it again recently, and I have to say, I liked it better the second time. It's one you have to reflect on after it has ended. I have to add this to my list of strange favorites. ONLY FOR THE BRAVE!
