Review of Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) by Steff A — 20 Jun 2009
A really well delivered heist movie. In this movie we see the strange teaming of a young and crazy thief(Jeff Bridges) with a veteran bank robber(Clint Eastwood). After the first save's the latter one's ass from his ex-associates he goes on to continue his journey along with his new partner.
But they catch up to them. Still after a fight Thunderbolt convinces them that he did not doublecross them. So they all form a new thieving team and decide to rob the same bank they robbed in the past.
The writting and direction of this movie is very good with only a few plot holes to spoil the whole picture. That really makes you wonder how Michael Cimino with movies like this and The Deer Hunter got to the bad point he is today.
Anyway the chemistry of the team is what the movie is all about with many funny incidents happening up until the point were the heist actually happens. The acting is in general very good with Jeff Bridges being amazing! All in all a really good heist picture with great charactres and heartbreaking ending.
