Review of Thunderball (1965) by David K — 07 Oct 2010
The most financially successful Bond film (adjusting for inflation), this entry contains some fantastic underwater footage, but suffers somewhat from uneven pacing. Connery seems to be just a little too comfortable, and director Terence Young (who also helmed the fantastic "From Russia With Love") probably bowed too much to the producers' wishes to film a big-budget spectacle, as opposed to a tight spy thriller.
Still, the action is first rate, the script has some very witty dialogue, and the production design was way ahead of its time.
