Review of Thunderball (1965) by Mike H — 22 Feb 2011
This is commercially one of the most popular Bonds, and the first time I watched this I felt it was a little underrated (given that revisionist reviewers hate this one). Having viewed it a second time, I felt this one was typical and hokey.
.. perhaps less so than others of its era, but that only says something bad about Thunderball's contemporaries rather than something good about Thunderball itself. The good that I would say about Thunderball is that the underwater action is different and pleasant to look at -- even groundbreaking in its time.
And the photography throughout the movie is probably as good as it gets for any Bond movie.
