Review of Thunderball (1965) by Andrew S — 02 Dec 2012
Whilst I gave the first three James Bond movies equally positive reviews, this one gets a downer for me. I think this is the point where the franchise starts going downhill because I didn't really get the movie.
The story is about a espionage organisation named S.P.E.C.T.R.E. who hijack a NATO nuclear bomber hiding it under the ocean depths and threatening to detonate the weapons unless 100,000,000 is paid. The guy's who's behind all this is a guy named Largo who owns a pool of sharks so he can eliminate enemies and those henchmen who fail to come up to standard.
But thankfully, there's James Bond to save the day whilst he's hanging out with the girls. While it's not as good as the first three movies, I guess the music is alright, the action scenes are somewhat fun and Sean Connery is still spot on as James Bond but the story is just boring and confusing.
Maybe the sequel Bond 5 will do any better. Thunderball gets a weak 7.8/10.
