Review of Thunderball (1965) by Reece L — 11 Nov 2015
Thunderball is another mediocre Bond entry that only slightly outpaces Dr. No due to its admirable lack of white people in yellow-face. There are far too many dead spots, the pace stalls every time Bond isn't doing something violent, and the misogyny is especially egregious.
The dialogue moves past pleasantly cheesy into the realm of idiotic (ex. Sean Connery literally says "See you later, alligator" as he's leaving the room of one of the several women he has sex with in this thing) and the performances from the supporting players are less than stellar; thankfully, the action sequences are inventive enough to make this a mildly entertaining, albeit entirely inessential Bond film.
