Review of Thumbelina (1993) by Kimberly J — 17 Aug 2007

I have to give it two stars because this movie makes me laugh uncontrollably at how unrealistic and crazy it is. Ok so she randomly meets the fairy prince, he's practically trying to grab her waist as soon as they meet.

Then he's all about marrying her, and of course he's Mr. Perfect. So then of course, Thumbelina is taken away by a random frog. This frog is an animated version of Pamela Anderson, if you catch my drift.

Her son falls in love with Thumbelina... well my goodness WHO DOESN'T in this movie?!?! It's like every male character that comes along decides to fall in love with her no matter the species. The beetle's character is so a pimp, the frog is like a member of the mafia, and the mole is a rich old selfish scoundrel.

Their intentions, need I say, are NOT pure. Listen to the words of the songs and watch the movement of characters very closely. You'll catch more than you did when you were just a kid!
