Review of Thumbelina (1993) by J C — 24 Sep 2010
This was a pleasant movie to watch. The storyline about the love between two people and how they want to be together has been sued many times, but this is one of those times where it seems to work well.
Thumbelina is a likable person, and because she's voiced by Jodi Benson, she has a wonderful singing voice. Some of the songs are enjoyable, and sound very nice. The voices for all of the characters all seem to fit them perfectly, especially Ms.
Fieldmouse's voice, which was the voice of Carol Channing. One thing I thought was interesting is that the fairies were the ones who changed the seasons, from summer, to autumn, to winter, and then to spring.
That seemed to be the order in which the seasons changed during the movie. The fairies were an interesting species to see in this movie. The one thing I thought was the most interesting was when Thumbelina gained wings after marrying Cornelius, the fairy prince, so it seemed that she turned into a fairy herself.
That was a very nice way to end the wonderful, whimsical fairy tale, Thumbelina.
