Macbeth in Japan would be a good way to describe this film. Beautiful, haunting, and violent, but still all the same, a well made film. Toshiro Mifune is brilliant as the blood and power hungry hero, and his wife, played by Isuzu Yamada is dark and sinister.
Wonderful, and creepy.
