Review of Throne of Blood (1957) by Mark S — 16 Jan 2012
One of the best adaptations of Shakespeare that I've seen. The agony of Toshiro Mifune's Taketoki Washizu is really tangible, as was vital for a character who is essentially Macbeth. I like how it's the same basic plot yet it feels fresh and has Kurosawa's own stamp on it.
