Review of Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1973) by Joshua C — 11 Aug 2007
A vengeance flick always means I'm in. Especially when it's a chick sporting a shot gun. I don't know, something about girls and shot guns always gets me. Moving on. I apparently got some earlier version of the film as the hardcore bits were gone (which is fine by me, I find when the sex is too graphic in movies it takes away).
The experimentation in this movie is what makes it worthwhile - but also damns it. The slow motion bits which looked really awesome, unfortunately, they did too much of a good thing and the slow motion eventually got irritating because a 30 second moment litteraly turned into nearly 5 minutes.
Alas, it was an enjoyable movie and I would suggest any exploitation buff give it a shot (hah. pun) because it's a staple in the genre (but I'll stick to my heavily edited version).
