Review of Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1973) by Andrew B — 25 Feb 2008
Whoa...
What can be said about this movie?
I was expecting low-class exploitation, but that's certainly not what I got.
In fact, this is a classy art film with some of the best acting and cinematography I've ever seen.
People complain about the whole slo-mo deal, but really, I think it adds a whole lot.
As for the xxx scenes, unlike what I've heard, these scenes were completely necessary in portraying cruelty.
Without these scenes, the last half hour wouldn't have been near as satisfying.
There's something so childlike and angelic about Lindberg.
She has to be one of my favorite characters ever.
This isn't low-class exploitation, and actually, there isn't much blood.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves film.
Not to be missed.
