Review of Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1973) by Jake P — 06 Jun 2012
Nasty exploitation film from Sweden. After a horrible child rape Madeleine turn mute and we follow this girl, now a beautiful woman, 15-20 years after the incident. Things may look bright, but they will turn darker again. I liked the film. The plot is working out well and this is one of the better revenge films I have seen. It's understandable that this is considured a cult film. It has some fantastic deaths, the killings are very epic and mostly shown in super slow motion. We got som exploding cars, fantastic characters - like the judo-guy and a very amatur look when it comes to production, so it truly has deserved it's cult status. There are some continuous errors here but it's quite charming to be honest. Tarentino is a big fan of this film and it's easy to see why actually.
Enjoyable and shocking film that is both a lot of fun and pure gruesomeness.
