Review of Three to Tango (1999) by Dave K — 14 Jun 2008
Functional romantic comedy, with a few problems.
1) really could have been more sensitive on the gay subplot (couldn't oscar have given a speech to the gay businessmen association at the end? I would have preferred that).
2) I didn't really buy how neve campbell was supposedly the perfect chick. she seemed really flighty and a bit emotionally unstable.
3) matthew perry's behavior in this movie when he's pretending to be gay really crosses the line. he lies to the object of his desire SO much, gets her to reveal things she wouldn't reveal to a normal date... it's not funny, it's creepy.
Still, you could do a lot worse for a romantic comedy.
