Review of Three Kings (1999) by Michael B — 27 Apr 2009
Great film that manages to be great even though it stars both Ice Cube AND one face Wahlberg, now thats an achievement! Every film tackling the issue of post invasion Iraq or US policy towards the Middle East has failed on both an entertainment and thematic level.
This pre 9/11 film sees the US governments attitude brilliantly personified by Clooney and co i.e. they went in to grab some gold but ended up doing some good on the way out. That said about Iraqi based films, keep an eye out for The Green Zone from Paul Greengrass, bound to be stunning.
