Review of Three Identical Strangers (2018) by Bronwen L — 01 Aug 2018
While engaging and informative, the film seems to be almost as cruel as the original researchers were by quoting one woman who blames Eddie's father for his suicide. All of the participants were victims of arrogant scientists and a cruel adoption agency, and the movie does them a new disservice by further victimizing one of them with public blame and shaming.
How absurd is the idea that science can separate nature from nurture, especially when the situation was manipulated from the start by Arrogant Scientists -- and worse yet, scientists whose field was mental Health -- affecting every family member from adoption throughout their lifetimes of every family member?! The film seems manipulative of both participants and audience, very discouraging considering the subject at hand!
