Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Kaustav — 03 Feb 2018
This is a good movie. But it's not great.
There is some excellent acting from McDormand, Rockwell and Harrelson and the supporting actors seems very natural in their roles. But the story just doesn't pay off in terms of the tension it builds up and personally, while I could empathize with a mother losing her daughter in the worst circumstances possible, it is so much more difficult to end up with two people contemplating justified (((murder))).
If nothing else, watch it for the acting which will probably rope in a few good awards in the eventual run.
