Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Cameron C — 03 Feb 2018
A very very good film, as shown by the awards it has and will likely win at the 90th Academy awards. This film handles literally every upsetting topic on Earth with ease and humour. The acting is some of the best I've ever seen in film, especially Frances McDormand (deserves another acting Oscar for her role) and Woody Harrelson was great as always.
Because this film covers sad topics, it is hence a very sad film. It had me in bits throughout or laughing out loud! A good film takes you on an emotional roller coaster and this film does. It makes you feel for every character, and when one comes through redemption you too do not hate that character anymore.
And especially the ending it filled me with a kind of joy, hope but also anger which you'd understand if you watched the film. It doesn't play easy at all, this film treats you rough. The violence is pretty tame but is usually very awesome when it's used.
Also shout out to Mac's mum from Always Sunny in this, me and my girlfriend couldn't stop laughing thinking about that.
