Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by David N — 10 Dec 2017
The most superb part of this film is how well acted it is. I think pretty much the entire cast is nomination worthy here and especially Frances McDormand in the lead role. The performances are darkly humorous and deeply dramatic when needed.
The movie has two very different tones throughout but it seems to work. I also thought it was very well shot and looks very good. I enjoyed the movie and thought it was very unique, even though it is certainly a little odd.
I wouldn't be surprised if the movie took some awards for acting in the upcoming months. My only real complaint about it is the way it ended. I didn't think it was a bad ending, but I felt there wasn't much of a resolution.
I would have liked it to go a different route but overall it still leaves an impact. If you're a fan of great performances, this movie is definitely worth a watch. .
