Review of Threads (1985) by Gordon C — 13 Jun 2009
An extremely grim take on the possible aftermath of a nuclear conflict. Could be a contender for the title of most depressing movie ever made.
There was a slew of nuclear holocaust movies in the early to mid 80s, possibly because many people were afraid that President Reagan was just looney enough to push the button. Fortunately it never happened, and this particular genre of cinema has pretty much died out nowadays. It probably doesn't hurt to be reminded now and again, though.
