Review of Threads (1985) by Andrew I — 01 Sep 2010
Super-grim BBC drama about what might've happened if the Russians had nuked Sheffield in the early 1980s. Why a Russia-US war would involve Sheffield getting nuked in a big way isn't strongly expanded upon, but the simulation of how the general populace would react and how UK authorities would 'cope' is probably pretty realistic.
Possibly the most miserable thing I've ever seen, but as a child of the 80s, it was easier to watch nowadays than it would've been back then.
