Review of Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) by Dharma — 17 May 2021

I felt that I have seen this move before. A fire 'personnel' has a traumatic past and must face a bunch of 'bad guys' that set a forest on fire...nope, its not Firestorm, a 1997 action film...it's the plot of this movie, a star vehicle for Jolie that failed to 'ignite' the cinemas or the small screen for that matter.

Cliched characterization and plot that was lifted from any Die Hard 'wannabe' but with 'less bad guys' to kill and maim. And in the age of 'de-glamourized' actresses, lead by stellar performers like Charlize Theron, Jolie looked so out of place; hair flowing, looking as glamorous as ever in a 'gritty' film about 'fire jumpers'(?).

If you have HBO Max, then it's worth a watch while it's free. If you need to go to the cinema for this, don't bother.
