Review of Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) by Randall S — 27 Oct 2007
This is my favourite movie. So, so funny. Witty beyond most viewer's capacity, yet common enough to be approched by all. The casting is a stitch (English-accented Julie Andrews as a girl from Iowa), the story stupid, and the whole thing farcically brilliant.
Unfortunately, the 2004 Broadway musical didn't live up to the film. (Yes, the movie came first).
