Review of Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) by Donny M — 14 Dec 2012
It wasn't as fantastic as I expected. I was surprised at how different the musical adaption was compared to the movie. The plot didn't really flow, things just...happened, it wasn't very fluid and nothing had much motive.
I didn't really enjoy watching the film until the last fourth or so when things actually started happening. I wouldn't even classify this as much of a musical, although I did enjoy hearing Julie Andrews sing, although she only did a couple of times.
I honestly don't think it compares to the other musical films of the 60s (Music Man, West Side Story, Sound of Music, etc.).
