Branagh's "Thor" is quite an agreeable superhero epic. There's plenty of spectacular action, character tension and, perhaps slightly surprisingly, laugh-out-loud moments. Despite the lighthearted aura that permeates a big chunk of the film's duration, the creators eventually couldn't help but rub the story's epicness right in your face, with an outstretched outro characterized by typically pompous dialogue underscored by cheesy music.

Good humour and great action versus delusions of grandeur.
