Review of This Island Earth (1955) by Aaron G — 11 Jul 2007
There's a difference between bad sci-fi films from the '50s with phony looking aliens, and good ones which unfortunately had to use the same special effects. The director, Jack Arnold (CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON; THE SPACE CHILDREN), should inspire confidence, as he hasn't really made a bad one.
Also, the Metaluna Monster's become an iconic image, instantly recognizable.
