THE movie for Robert Ranking fans, featuring the notorious Inter-Rositer, often mentioned by the Sprout Master. Sadly, there is no exegesis on the trans-perambulation of pseudo-cosmic anti-matter...
The aliens in this film are surprisingly human, by which I refer not just to their physiology (humanoid aliens being extremely common in Sci-Fi movies), but to the range of different characters presented - in many films the aliens are all of a type.
Now here's the question - after being brought to Metalluna, Drs. Meacham and Adams seem perfectly willing to help the Metallunans against the Zagons, without bothering to make the slightest attempt to determine which side is actually in the right. How do they know that it was the Zagons who started the war, or that they do not have some legitimate grievance against the Metallunans?
If aliens had arrived on Earth in 1945 to find Germany under bombardment and their country under invasion, would they have jumped in to help the Nazis? Would they have been right to do so?
The film doesn't even make a step toward addressing these questions.
