FORGET that awful hack job MST3K: "The Movie" did to this 50's classic - for its time, it was an incredible film. If you watch it in context with other 50's sci-fi such as Forbidden Planet, Destination Moon, The Day The Earth Stood Still and the like, it's nearly an equal to all of them.
Yes, there's camp value here if you want to yuk it up, but those who love genre films from the era dig this one for better reasons.
