Review of This Is Where I Leave You (2014) by Chris D — 26 Sep 2014
This was a nice little ensemble comedy for the Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone and they all seemed to enjoy it. It is really a Jason Bateman movie with the rest of the cast in solid support. A fairly mundane story of a dysfunctional family coming together over the death of their father.
A mundane story but saved by a great comedic scrip, great acting, and a light hand by Shawn Levy. I especially liked Tina Fey and Dax Shepard in a small, but well done role. Not big belly laughs, but a lot of pleasant smaller ones.
A good bet and not a waste of time or money.
