Review of This Is Where I Leave You (2014) by Kerby H — 08 Dec 2014

I was slightly disappointed with this one. The trailer looked like this would be a dramatic comedy with a lot of laughs and tears along the way but its just a snapshot of the lives of a family after their father dies, there is a lot of character development throughout and some excellent chemistry between the cast but it's all a bit too formulaic and sugary sweet when it comes to laying on the drama and doesn't give us enough laughs.

There is however one jaw dropping moment in the films climax which did leave me surprised. But it needed a few more of those moments to make it memorable. Good for watching once but not worth repeated viewings.
