Review of This Is Not a Movie (2011) by Scott M — 10 Nov 2012
Poor Edward Furlong, I feel so bad for him having to be stuck in this awful, awful film. You can tell he is doing his damnedest to make the best of what he has, but the film gives him absolutely nothing to work with.
Now, the first part of the film is interesting, but the premise behind the whole film quickly grows dull. The ending feels as if the screenwriter had no idea how to properly end this film, and so went with the worst possible option.
The film teases that it's about some pretty deep material like existentialism and the truth behind reality and society, but the film ends up being nothing more than absurd thoughtlessness and winds up becoming a satire of itself.
