Review of This Christmas (2007) by T?Ri — 17 Dec 2008
"This Christmas" is, surprisingly, a very entertaining, charming, and overall heartwarming film. Movies of this ilk more often then not fail, but I really enjoyed the script, the characters and the acting here.
This family feels like any other family out there. The characters come off as actual people, with feelings and motives and ideas. Yes, the plot is somewhat predictable and also the slapstick that most of these movies delve into is present here and as unfunny as ever (sans one scene near the end).
But in spite of this, I enjoyed seeing these people on screen. Tyler Perry, take notes- this is a family drama done right.
