Review of This Boy's Life (1993) by John N — 28 Jun 2010
If you're not sure whether or not Leonardo DiCaprio is a good actor, give this film a look. At 19 he gave a truly stunning performance as the writer Tobias Wolff (this is Wolff's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man).
The film isn't startlingly original--a tale of a rebellious kid trapped in a life with a cruel stepfather (Robert De Niro). But Leo is utterly believable and moving.
