Review of Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944) by Richard O — 19 Dec 2008
Sappy and jingoistic. The patriotism is so thick it goes down like pudding! It's silly and propagandistic and not nearly as enjoyable as that Rosalind Russell movie where she plays a WAP but it has its charms.
Ironic given subsequent events is that the Chinese are portrayed as nearly saintly. I mean, at least they were until it got too sappy and embarrassing and I zoned out.
