Review of Thirty Day Princess (1934) by Jay N — 13 Mar 2010
3: Sylvia Sidney is a great match for Cary Grant on screen. She seems to belong far more to the silent era than most stars of the sound era. She has that unique look that seems best suited to the 20's.
I can think of few actresses that seem so sweet and unassuming. Cary Grant doesn't have a whole lot to do, which is certainly one of the major failings of the picture. The story is a variation of one that I've seen on screen many times over the years, but everything works well enough here to keep things more than interesting.
