Review of Thinner (1996) by Elysse C — 08 Apr 2008
Awesome Stephen King adaptation that surprisingly stays very close to the original story about a gluttonous and seedy lawyer who accidentally runs over an old crazy gypsy lady whilst getting some head from his wife.
The father of the dead gypsy girl puts a curse on the man to never stop losing weight. At first, the guy is like "awesome" until he gets skinnier and skinnier and must find a way to unbreak this curse before he withers away.
A lot of people don't care for this film, but I love it. It's a lot of fun, and Joe Mantegna was a standout performer in this, playing the closest he has ever gotten to his Fat Tony role on The Simpsons.
