If thinking like a man is the missing link to women understanding and keeping their men, then the movie Think like a Man is definitely a map to finding the link. Think like a Man is a romantic comedy based on the best sellerâ(TM)s self help book by comedian and Family Feud host Steve Harvey Act like a Lady, Think like a Man. In the comedy the book is treated as the ultimate guide to understanding men and unlocking the secrets necessary in order to maintain a healthy relationship amongst them. Here Steve Harvey portrays his fellow gender by exposing secrets about men to women in order to help them better understand men, which speaks on the believed problems men have when it comes to intimacy, commitment, and relationships. Throughout the movie Steve also lends a helping hand by providing key points of wisdom or clarifications to quotes from the book as the movie progresses.

Think like a Man focuses its self around four women and six men (two of which are least important but merely provide a setting example to a good man and comic relief throughout the movie) who are intertwined amongst each other fitting in their own individual set pairs. The four beautiful and successful women all with their own proclaimed titles and problems with men obtain Steveâ(TM)s book in order to gain advice & answers to the problems they are facing with men. Just as the four guys pursing the women become hip to the fact that they were portrayed by Steveâ(TM)s book, only to go about obtaining there on copies in order to get the jump on the women and beat them in their own game. This in result ends with a necessary understanding of each other and a happily ever after ending.

Directed by Tim Story ("Fantastic Four"), Think like a Man may seem to drag along a little as well as providing a pretty predictable plot, it does entertain you along the way with a delightful cast. This includes Megan Good (90 day rule girl), Regina Hall (Single Mother), Gabrielle Union (Knows what she wants), and Taraji P. Henson (Her own Man). It also features Terrence Jenkins (Mamaâ(TM)s boy), Michael Ealy (The Dreamer), Jerry Ferrara (Non-committer), Romany Malco (The Player), Gary Owen (The Married Man), and Kevin Hart (the divorce man) who is also the comic relief in the movie proving some hysterical and witty lines. The movie also pokes fun of the fact that although the book can provide advice to helping the sexes understand each other; all success cannot be obtained from just a book as the characters come to realize. But as far as a self help book based movie on relationship advice goâ(TM)s, this is definitely one of the best. Seeing as it provides a more modern up beat refreshing take that most people (especially African Americans) can relate to.
