Review of Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1995) by Jen W — 22 Sep 2004
I intended to see this movie when it came out in 1996. I was working at a movie theatre and well, that's what you did in your spare time. For some reason, I didn't get to see it. Then I forgot about it. I "found" it again while I was surfing and it was somehow linked to Quentin Tarantino. So I thought, hey, I'll put it on my Netflix queue.
Let me begin. "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead" is a catchy title. Christopher Walken as mob boss/bad guy. Pedophilia. Baldwin brother as bad guy gone good trying to shake organized crime ties. Hiest goes bad. All been done before.
For a genre film, it tries very hard to be The Usual Suspects. It fails horribly.
Watch this movie on cable, don't even rent it.
