Review of Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1995) by Olga Consuelo S — 20 Aug 2009
I thought that Things To Do in Denver When You're Dead Is one of the best movies I have seen this year. I enjoyed it because of the great characters and it gets you to watch a good crime type movie not directed by Scorsese or Tarantino.
The Main Character Jimmy the Saint who was played by Andy Garcia was a intresting character to watch, as he got out of the crime business and decided to come clean by starting a business so that he could buy a boat. Is brought back into the business 1 last time. The character was intresting to watch as during and after the job he falls in love with a woman and tries to help his friends along the way even when they r being killed 1 by 1.
However I think the best character goes to 3 people Treat Williams who plays a convincing part as Critical Bill the daft but crazy one who cant control his temper. Willams seems to really fit the part of the character and does it well, Christopher Walker as the Man With A Plan the crazy but paralysed villain who forces the saint to do the last job. The main suprise was Steve Buschemi who played the slient hitman Mr Shhh he was truly brillant as it showed that he can be a good lead actor not a supporting one he has known to be.
The plot of the story was a intresting 1 as you never see the main characters getting killed off so early in the film unless it is a horror movie. It could have been improved but overall it was very good and for me the ending was very good as the Gang meet up on a boat.
Overall I enjoyed this and would reccomend it to anyone who liked the crime type of movie but it is not as good as the Godfather.
