Review of They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969) by Davyn A — 02 Feb 2009
I'm really glad I watched this film by myself, and didn't rent it with a group of friends, resulting in them blaming me for putting them in a dark place. It would be just like the time we watched Boys Don't Cry in a hotel room while on vacation, and everyone just wanted to go home after it was done.
But seriously, I was looking to be depressed and this surely did the trick. Plus, as big of a downer as the surprise ending is, I really applaud it for the harsh truth it conveys.
