Review of They Live (1988) by Ryan C — 15 Nov 2009
**MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**.
They live is a very intriguing sci-fi movie. It has a very original plot. You may start thinking "where is this movie heading" like I did, but the story really picks up steam.
The lead role of George Nada is played by Roddy Piper. He plays the character seriously, but not too seriously. It is the perfect balance. This movie has some comedic elements in it, which is why it was best for the lead role not to be too serious all the time.
The movie has a good message that shows how much of a capitalist world we live in. However, the movie is not entirely politically motivated, so I don?t think anybody would be offended.
You know that you can?t go wrong by a John Carpenter movie. I highly recommend this movie to horror, and sci-fi fans.
The film is up on youtube as of now. Type in "They Live part 1" and you will find the full movie that way. (I hope RT doesn?t get mad at me for telling you that).
Anyway, if you have seen it, leave me a comment with your opinion.
