Review of They Live (1988) by Jesse R — 07 May 2012
"The Rowdy One" graces the big screen in this pretty cool movie, at which it's learned that we're not the only ones living amongst ourselves. Piper is awesome in this film, and is (in my opinion) a much better actor then Hulk Hogan, even though Hogan has done more films then Piper.
I remember when Piper left the WWE (then WWF) back in March 1987, right after Wrestlemania III, which he took on the late "Adorable" Adrian Adonis in a 'Hair VS. Hair- Retirement" match. He won the match and of course came back to the WWE after his hiatus working on They Live (1988) and film career. He returned at Wrestlemania V in 1989 and held another famous Piper's Pit, which the late Morton Downey Jr. was his guest.
Still to this day "The Rowdy One" makes appearances in the WWE, and as he says "He kicked Cancer's Ass", as he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in November 2006 As of this typing, Piper is doing well @ 58 years old.
