Review of They Live (1988) by Caryn W — 02 Dec 2011
Really fun and funny flick. Carpenter wrote some classic one-liners. Roddy Piper plays a good natured homeless guy looking for a job. But when some strange guy starts talking on tv, he starts realizing something might not be right in the world.
These sunglasses he finds lets him see the world as it is. The world is just a business plan run by aliens. There is a 10 minute fight scene with his black friend where he just tries to get him to put on the sunglasses.
Then he fights to save a woman that beat the hell out of him. It's ridiculous, it's fun, and definitely worth watching. Just wish the first 20 minutes was quicker.
