Review of They Live (1988) by Craig G — 10 Nov 2012
I'm a pro-wrestling fan, but when a wrestler turns their hand to acting, the results are usually more devastating than a chair shot to the head.
In this case though, Roddy Piper easily takes his charisma and edgy character from the squared circle and makes it a convincing and impossible to dislike sci-fi hero.
I think the plot had the potential to extend beyond one film, but considering this film is nearly 25 years old...maybe a remake will be in consideration? (which may spawn a sequel).
After all, plenty of John Carpenter's films have been covered over the years.
Well worth watching if you like your Sci-Fi, but especially so if you are fond of conspiracy theories.
