Review of They Live (1988) by Steve A — 30 Dec 2011

I really liked They Live. After reading reviews of the movie I think I completely agree with the majority of the people who liked it. It has a great premise, it's very cool, and it's thought-provoking, but what knocks down the ratings is the very ending and I agree that the ending could have been slowed down and been less unexpected and unsatisfying. (warning: spoilers in the next sentence) Don't get me wrong, that boob shot was awesome but I just wish they could have had some kind of scene before that, that would make the film more satisfying, perhaps having Roddy Piper's character show a little emotion and respect for his dead friend, or something like that.

This is still one awesome flick! Remember all of the positive things I said earlier in this review: like the great premise, the thought provoking shit and the coolness, or whatever I said before. I can't remember...what it was...I...said. So anyway I highly recommend this movie. It's very intelligent which you may or may not expect. Oh, and this movie has one of the funniest and coolest fight scenes ever put on screen!
