Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Brian L — 09 Nov 2012
A triumph in filmmaking era of the recent times, There Will Be Blood is a work of perfection. Be it the script, direction, performances, & even technical aspects like cinematography, editing or music, Paul Thomas Anderson gets everything perfect this time.
Daniel Day-Lewis stars a ruthless n cunning oilman named Daniel Plainview & the intensity with which he brought his character to life is remarkable. Even Paul Dano was surprisingly good as the local priest & the scenes between them is the soul of this movie.
Covering themes of greed, lies, manipulation, religion & power, There Will Be Blood is one of the most perfect films ever made & as a character study, it's simply an unsurpassed achievement of this century.
