Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Allan A — 17 Mar 2013
A great american film. Probing the ideals of capitalism and american success with It's surreal yet formalistic approach provides for an unsettling film experience. You are always uncomfortable watching this film because you have no idea what Daniel Plainview will do next, his motivations and ethos are fascinating.
Featuring unbelievable performances from Lewis and Paul Dano, masterful cinematography by Robert Elswit, a lunatic script and completely in control direction from our modern master Paul Thomas Anderson.
I don't feel like I can accurately asses this film having only watched it once, but I can't wait to see it again.
