Review of Then She Found Me (2007) by Daniel K — 24 Apr 2009
2: It's a bit more than the standard genre fare, but that doesn't mean it's better. The film can't quite ever find the right tone and I have to think a large part of blame for this lies with Hunt.
The script isn't the greatest either. It needs a bit more comedy perhaps. I would say the real problem is Hunt should have cast someone else in her role. I didn't find Midler particularly compelling either, but to be entirely honest though, I essentially never find Midler compelling.
Firth gives a reasonably good performance, but it's nothing special. I suspect this is not the type of film that will hold up well to multiple viewings.
