I just can't understand the high praise for this film. I was able to catch a first screening at our local film festival in the Netherlands. However, this film is overrated. It's slow and uses all the conventional horror tropes.

I don't wish to spoil anything but when the thing with the grandmother happens there's a scene which is just ludicrous. Also the film outstays it's welcome as the closing scene is overly saccharine and entirely unnecessary.

Eventhough it passes the Bechdel test you are left with a bad taste as it seems to connect witchcraft to lesbiennes.
